Northernlights. You said it. I will admit, it took about an hour start to finish. The best way is to work on a cool motor. I spent half the time getting burned.
Take the engine cover off
Unscrew the bracket that is holding the bottom o2 sensor and the top one. By doing this, you can really bend the connector to get it sideways. This is pretty much the only way to unhook the connector. Just doing it in place is close to impossible. BTW, there is only one little tab that keeps the connector on. Once that is depressed, the connector is free to come off. As I said though, you have to turn the connector sideways, makes it so much easier. After trying it 30 other ways, it came off in 20 seconds.
Hand screw in the new o2 sensor and tighten. Make sure the crush washers are on the o2 sensor, as this will keep you from having an exhaust leak
Re-connect sensor
Re-install the engine cover.
This o2 sensor from Honda was about $350 + $50-100 in labor. I purchased a Bosch o2 sensor from Autozone online for $97 shipped plus I received a $15 gift card
