We here at Norris Honda were not surprised when we heard the Civic NGV was recently named the "2012 Green Car of the Year" by the Green Car Journal. Given the fact the Honda Civic GX Natural Gas has won the "Greenest Vehicle" title for the past eight years, triumphing even EVs. Nevertheless, we're extremely impressed to see the Civic Natural Gas wins hands-down in terms of eco-friendly engineering and total tech package.
Besides the obvious winning attribute of the 2012 Honda Civic Natural Gas - an internal combustion engine designed to run on clean natural gas - the Civic NGV also delivers in terms of safety, convenience, entertainment, and performance and efficiency-boosting technology.
Let's take a closer look at the 2012 Honda Civic Natural Gas performance and efficiency features. It holds a 110-hp, 1.8-liter, 16-valve SOHC i-VTEC engine, 5-speed automatic transmission, it can get 27 mpg city and 38 mpg highway, drive by wire throttle system, efficiency-enhancing ECON button and efficiency-enhancing Eco Assist.
