Re: Love my Ridgeline, but bummed with its towing capability
I don't tow very often so I look at the gas milage scenario like this:
I tow with a ridgeline which (after checking it over 100K miles) gets overall 19.86 mpg. I tow the same as above and get 10 mpg.
Now the math:
30K miles/yr on the Chevy/Ford at $2.75/gal getting 16mpg = $5,156.25 spent on gas in one year.
1K miles/yr towing with same truck at $2.75/gal getting 14mpg = $196.42 spent on gas while towing.
30K miles/yr on the Ridgeline at $2.75/gal getting 19.86mpg = $4,154.07 spent on gas in one year.
1K miles/yr towing with the ridgeline at $2.75/gal getting 10mpg = $275.00 spent on gas while towing.
Um, let's total these now shall we?
$5,156.25 + $196.42 = $5,352,67 spent a year for the Ford/Dodge/Chevy.
$4,154.07 + $275.00 = $4,429.07 spent a year for the Honda.
